Dialogue of the VELKD with Old Catholics in Germany in Frankfurt am Main on November 14, 2019

The dialogue between the United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Germany (VELKD) and the Diocese of the Old Catholic Church in Germany (AKD) is already looking back on a decade-long tradition. The current discussion group, which also includes Prof. Stefan Dienstbeck from the Strasbourg Institute, met for the first time in 2016 with the aim of seeing whether the formerly failed attempts to establish church unity between the two churches now meet other requirements.

The dialogue group has already explored numerous ways and directions and is trying to keep up the momentum of its extremely harmonious dialogue. The topics “Church and ministries” will therefore be treated at the next meeting in February 2020 in Bonn.
